A look at 50 years of the Tardis and Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

13 observations and favourite moments in Journey to the Centre of the TARDIS

1. We see Matt turn a Smiths key.
There is something secretly delightful about watching the Doctor be manipulative.

2. Doctor: Don't get in a spaceship with a mad man. Didn't anyone teach you that?

3. Doctor: Salvage of a lifetime. You thought I meant the ship. I meant Clara.

4.We see the swimming pool, library, observatory mentioned in previous episodes.

5.We get a peek at the Doctor's personal items. History of the time war book is old and huge and the Encyloped Gallifrey vol x in bottles.
The mixture of drama and humour is always nice.

6.Doctor: Clara, I'm sorry. I'm totally sorry. please forgive me. (Clara punches him) Ow. So we're not doing hugging. I get that.
Clara: What do you keep in here? Why do you have zombie creatures? Good guys don't have zombie creatures. Rule 1. Basic storytelling.
Doctor: Not in front of the guests.
I love the expression on Matt's face and also the manipulation is again secretly delightful.

7.Doctor: There is no self destruct. Hey. Haha. Hey. Hey. I had you guys going there didn't i? You just wiggle a few buttons. Yeah, wiggly old button trick. And the face, you got to do the face. Save her or we all die. I thought I rushed it a bit.

8.We get to see a map that shows the Eye of Harmony along with Arch Beacon, Console Room and Library. Better yet, we get to see the eye of harmony.
The Doctor's tenderness and protective nature mixed in with the horror surrounding Clara and the guys is both touching and frightening.

9.Clara: Tell me what they are.
Doctor: I can't.
Clara: Tell me. What's the use of secrets now?
Doctor: Secrets protect us. Secrets make us safe.
Clara: We're not safe.
Clara recognizing the zombie is a burnt version of herself in the future is sad.
10. Clara: That's me.
Doctor: I'm so sorry
The Doctor's pain and Clara's realization is sad.

11.Doctor: Listen, I brought you here to keep you safe but it happened again. You died again.
Clara: What do you mean again?

12. The confrontation between The Doctor and Clara is dynamic. It's too bad she won't remember the conversation.

I didn't catch all of the Doctor's last warning, but I think the scene still speaks for itself.
13. Clara: The library. I saw it. You were mentioned in a book.
Doctor: I'm mentioned in a lot of books.
Clara: You call yourself Doctor. Why do you do that? You have a name. I've seen it. In one corner of that tiny-
Doctor: If i were you after today, you won't remember and you won't go looking for my name
Clara: We'll still have secrets
Doctor: It's better that way

And then there is the making of the episodes as well.
