Whovians who try recruiting new people into the fold often cite Blink as the episode to watch and will go on for periods of time discussing how weeping angels are terrifying. My first introduction to these surprisingly scary creatures was in The Time of Angels and Flesh and Stone. It was also at this time when my apprehension on whether I would continue with the show dissipated and I would commit to it wholeheartedly.
Here is the Doctor Who Confidential report on Time of Angels.
I saw DWC after seeing the episode so I was unaware the angels were actually portrayed by people. I actually thought they were foam statues being adjusted for the camera. The mistake in workmanship didn't deter me from the episode. I became captivated from the very first moment we see River Song strut down the corridor and out the air lock. Although I was unsure of how she fit into the big picture as I had not met her yet, I could see from Matt and Karen's looks that she was someone I would not forget.
Here are a few more shots of Matt with his Tardis
I also really liked the tenderness between The Doctor and Amy.
There were also these moments that instilled greatness as we see The Doctor truly become a hero.
Although he does not like guns, he has no problem handling them to make threats.
There was something so clever and witty about the Doctor that you knew everything would be okay, even when it looks like this
I think most of the girls and ten percent of the guys understood and wished they could do this to the Doctor
I actually found the chemistry between Matt and Karen delightful so I was a bit disappointed later on when the writers made a revelation about their relationship. It made me think back to this moment differently, but luckily for the most part I retain that initial surprise and envy. ;)
